These well designed travel locks carry the TravelSentry logo which signifies they are compliant with Travel Safety Administration (TSA) rules for luggage locks. This means you can lock your checked luggage, but TSA personnel can still unlock it with a special key if they need to inspect it.
One of the features that makes this lock unique is the red/green indicator. TSA personnel are obligated to attach a notification to your bag if they open it for inspection. The red/green indicator on the face of the lock changes from red to green if the bag was opened using a TSA key. If you get your checked luggage back and the indicator is green, but there isn't a notification attached to the bag that it was inspected, then you should check your bag carefully to ensure nothing was stolen or added.
